Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements however adequate language, literacy and numeracy skills combined with a moderate level of computer literacy skills are required. Your capacity to complete the assessment items within the specified timeframes is also necessary.
Applicants must be aged 18 years or above. In line with legal requirements, you will need to successfully complete a Working with Children Check before commencing any work placement. Applicants are responsible for associated costs.
Course Delivery and Duration
The course is taught via a blended learning approach over 52 weeks.
Students will attend LIVE online classes using ZOOM with our trainer twice a week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10:30am – 1:30pm.
Students will also attend classroom based face-to-face training, held from 9:30am – 3:00pm once every 3 weeks at our facility.
Students will take a break from their studies during every Victorian school holiday term.
Placement
During the course, students are also required to complete a minimum of 120 hours of practical work placement in an early childhood setting to ensure they have the relevant practical skills and knowledge to work in the industry.

18 units of competency are required to complete this qualification, including 15 core units and 3 elective units.

Qualification
On successful completion of this course you will be awarded the CHC30113 – Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care which is a nationally recognised qualification.
Students who do not complete all units may be eligible for a Statement of Attainment for the partial completion of units within the Certificate.

Pathways
Pathways provide ways into and connections between courses, starting at certificate level and right through to postgraduate study.
The units of competency achieved in this qualification may provide credit towards a range of other qualifications at Certificate III level and above, with many students continuing with their early childhood education and care knowledge and training and moving into more advanced areas of study as a natural progression.
After completing your Certificate III, you may be eligible to apply for particular higher education qualifications such as a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or an Undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education and Care.
