Course in Perform CPR
The purpose of the course in Apply CPR is to
provide participants with the skills and knowledge to administer
Expired Air Resuscitation and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation following a
life-threatening incident.
Duration:
The course in Apply CPR is generally conducted
over a 3 hour period. However this may vary depending on group size,
previous experience and workplace requirements.
Entry requirements:
Nil, however it is recommended that participants
have literacy and numeracy competencies equivalent to National
Reporting System (NRS) Level 2:

simple and cohesive texts which are typically short and explicit |

communicating straightforward mathematical procedures and
representation in familiar and predictable contexts with access to
structured support required. |

support or appropriate medical assistance and/or ambulance support
using available means of communication
3.2 Accurately convey details of casualty's condition and CPR
procedures performed to emergency services/relieving personnel
3.3 Calmly provide information to reassure casualty, adopting a
communication style to match the casualty's level of consciousness
3.4 Provide reports, where applicable, in a timely manner, presenting
all relevant facts relating to performing CPR according to established
procedures

This program can be conducted at your
location of business or at a venue that is suitable and convenient to
the participants. First Intervention is able to deliver this course at
a time to suit your needs.
First Intervention also conducts this course on a regular basis at one
of our training locations that is open to the public. For further

Size: |
Normally a minimum of
8 participants is required and a maximum of 20 participants is
allowed. |
| Assessment: |
All assessments conducted by First
Intervention will be consistent with the requirements of Standard 8.1
of the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) Standards for
Registered Training Organisations.
All assessment tools and methods will be
valid, reliable, fair and flexible.
Participants will be informed of the
context and purpose of the assessment and the assessment process.
Feedback will be provided to participants
about the outcomes of the assessment process and guidance given on
future options.

| Certificates: |
On successful completion
of this course participants are awarded the Statement of Attainment
HLTCPR201A Course in Perform CPR. This Statement of Attainment is valid
for a period of 12 months from the date of issue. |

Participants who have
successfully completed this course are encouraged to either undertake
the Course in Apply First Aid or Provide Basic Emergency Life Support. |
